Now in its 31st year, the Run for Life is one of the Triangle area's oldest 5K's.

Last year Omar Wiggan took top honors in 5K run with a 17:57 clocking. Catherine Peters won the women’s competition in 23:28. Ryan Kaat holds the course record for this event running 16:19 in 2011. Michelle Langan set the women’s standard of 17:39 in 2014.

Once again, the event will be held at the Soccer Park with the mile run beginning at 8:30 am, and the 5K starting at 9:00 am.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Birthchoice, which has been providing free services to pregnant women in the Raleigh area since 1971 by offering pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, and other services at no cost and with no obligations. They make sure their clients are cared for in a respectful and loving environment, and that they are empowered to make an informed decision. For more information on Birthchoice, go to http://birthchoicewake.org/

The entry fees for the 5K are $35 (with shirt) and $30 (without shirt). The deadline to be guaranteed a shirt is April 1. On race day, April 12, the fee is $40 and shirts will be given out “as available.”.
