26th Annual Virtual Run for Life

26th Annual Virtual Run for Life

August 22 - 30th

5K, 1 Mile Run

August 22 - 30th

In 2019 over 240 runners and walkers registered for this event which is held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. Rodger Shull took top honors in 17:05. Jenny DiPaolo won the women’s competition in 20:12. Ryan Kaat holds the course record for this event running 16:19 in 2011. Michelle Langan set the women’s standard of 17:39 in 2014.

But this year, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Run for Life will be a virtual event.  This means that one can register and run the 5K or mile on any 5K or mile course anytime between August 22 and August 30.  They will then be able to post their times on the web site.

But the great thing about a virtual event, you can register, get your t-shirt and do not even have to run!

Proceeds from the race will benefit BirthChoice, which has been providing free services to pregnant women in the Raleigh area since 1971 by offering pregnancy tests, limited Ultrasounds, and other services at no cost and with no obligations. They make sure their clients are cared for in a respectful and loving environment, and that they are empowered to make an informed decision.. Now, more than ever, Birthchoice needs your support.  The current epidemic has cause a drop in financial contributions to non-profits across the board.
